How to use multiple desktops?

Using multiple desktops can help organize your workspace, especially if you’re working on different tasks at once. Here’s how to use multiple desktops on various operating systems:

Windows 10 & 11

  1. Create a new desktop:
    • Press Windows + Tab to open Task View.
    • At the top of the screen, click New Desktop.
    • Alternatively, press Windows + Ctrl + D to instantly create a new desktop.
  2. Switch between desktops:
    • Press Windows + Ctrl + Left/Right Arrow to cycle between desktops.
    • Or, open Task View (Windows + Tab) and click on the desktop you want to switch to.
  3. Move apps between desktops:
    • Open Task View (Windows + Tab).
    • Drag the window of an app to the desktop you want to move it to.
  4. Close a desktop:
    • Open Task View, and click the “X” on the desktop you want to close, or press Windows + Ctrl + F4.
