To check CPU usage in Task Manager on a Windows computer:
- Open Task Manager:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, or
- Right-click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager, or
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager from the menu.
- Switch to the “Performance” tab:
- If the Task Manager opens in a simplified view, click “More details” at the bottom.
- Go to the “Performance” tab.
- View CPU usage:
- Under the CPU section, you’ll see a graph showing real-time CPU usage as a percentage.
- Below the graph, additional details about CPU performance will be displayed, such as:
- The number of cores and logical processors.
- CPU speed.
- Threads and handles.
- Monitor specific processes:
- Go to the “Processes” tab.
- Check the CPU column to see how much CPU each application or process is consuming.
- You can click the CPU column header to sort processes by their CPU usage.
This allows you to analyze overall CPU performance and identify any applications causing high usage.
